ABOUT NpM, PLATFORM FOR
INCLUSIVE FINANCE
NpM is a member platform for Dutch investors in the worldwide inclusive finance sector, like development organisations, social investors and commercial banks. Together with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our members, we are committed to expanding access to affordable financial services worldwide. We believe in a clear link between financial inclusion and development. Access to financial services offers people the possibility to improve their living standards, which in turn reduces inequality. Inclusive finance can result in poverty alleviation, job creation, food security, gender equality, and equitable growth.
It is our mission to increase the effectiveness of our members’ inclusive finance investments and activities. Therefore, we promote effective partnerships to combine efforts, and complement expertise and objectives. In addition, we support our members’ in contributing to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
NpM promotes inclusive finance by being:
- The Knowledge Hub: NpM enables distribution and accessibility of knowledge. Accessibility to knowhow and expertise is essential to catalyse the effectiveness of our members’ investments and activities, and to increase their contribution to SDG themes, such as food security, equality, access to energy and job creation. NpM facilitates exchange of knowledge, ideas, insight and experience by organizing trainings, seminars, meetings and conferences for our members and a broader audience.
- The Linking Pin: NpM brings together relevant stakeholders. Partnerships with the right stakeholders are key to increase the effectiveness of our members’ inclusive finance investments and activities as well as their contribution to the SDGs. By using our wide network, we connect parties active in the inclusive finance sector, like investors, private sector companies, knowledge institutions, civil society organisations and governmental bodies. Individual competences, methods, responsibilities are pooled together to reach our joint goal: affordable financial services for all.
- The Voice of the Sector: NpM voices and promotes the Dutch efforts. With our increased advocacy and communication activities, we aim to raise broader awareness for financial inclusion issues and related themes. Being the voice of the Dutch inclusive finance sector, NpM is the facilitator and promotor of debate, without biases towards our members and other stakeholders.
- The Liaison: NpM increases cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). We represent the Dutch investor base in the inclusive finance sector towards MoFA. Being the liaison with the MoFA and other stakeholders, NpM aims to increase cooperation and catalyse the achievement of our members’ individual and mutual goals
