About Triodos Investment Management
Triodos Investment Management is a globally recognised leader in impact investing, managing direct investments ranging from sustainable energy infrastructure to microfinance institutions. At year-end 2011, the investment company manages 20 funds totalling EUR 2.1 billion for private and institutional investors.
Triodos Investment Management is a 100% subsidiary of Triodos Bank, one of the world’s leading sustainable banks. Since 1980, the bank has pioneered a groundbreaking, commercially successful approach to money that values people, the environment and culture, as well as profit.
Triodos Investment Management manages four microfinance funds: Triodos-Doen, Hivos-Triodos Fund, Triodos Fair Share Fund, and Triodos SICAV II - Triodos Microfinance Fund. All funds have similar objectives but different risk profiles and funding structures, which means we can support microfinance institutions at different stages of development.
Since 1994, the investor's assets under management in the microfinance sector have grown to EUR 385 million, making Triodos Investment Management one of the leading investors in the industry. As investor, Triodos Investment Management wants to contribute to the development of a sustainable financial sector in developing countries that is based on fair pricing, transparency, access for all and care for the earth. It provides finance - loans and equity - to around 95 upcoming and well-established microfinance institutions in 45 countries that demonstrate a sustainable approach toward providing financial services to underserved client groups. In the quest for innovation, Triodos Investment Management looks for opportunities that tie together financial services, renewable energy and sustainable agriculture.
