The aim of the award is to "increase the understanding of the importance of microfinance as a tool to fight poverty and social exclusion in Europe, to encourage European microfinance practitioners to share good and transferable practices in the field of microfinance and to promote and spread these good practices to other microfinance agencies in Europe."
