2nd DNB Seminar on Financial Inclusion

The 2nd DNB seminar on Financial Inclusion took place 20-22 September, in Amsterdam. 

The event attracted some 60 experts from central banks, supervisory authorities, international institutions and national organisations from 22 different countries.

The purpose of the event was to exchange experiences and best practices for stimulating access to finance, and raising financial awareness and encouraging self-reliance among consumers and entrepreneurs.

The seminar was opened by DNB Executive Director Frank Elderson. AFM Executive Board Member Femke de Vries also spoke at the event about nudging, Céu Pereira from the World Bank talked about remittances and Gita Salden (Deputy Treasurer General) from the Ministry of Finance discussed the Money Wise platform. The seminar was chaired by Michiel van Doeveren, who addressed the subject of innovations in retail payments.

Josien Sluijs, the Director of Npm, Platform for Inclusive Finance, gave a speech on the best efforts in organizing and promoting inclusive finance. This was a great opportunity to share the experience and expertise of NpM with a unique group of representatives of central banks from different countries.
