NpM, Platform for Inclusive Finance, is the leading national platform in inclusive finance sector worldwide. Established in 2003, the platform brings together Dutch development organizations, social investors and commercial banks active in the inclusive finance sector. Together with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NpM’s 13 members share a commitment to expanding access to finance in underserved regions and to anticipate the changing need in the sector to grow towards a responsible industry. The members of NpM are active in 97 countries and have committed almost EUR 4.0 billion to the inclusive finance sector. NpM’s activities are directed to the contribution of the financial sector in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.

Profile of the Programme Manager

An active team member, who is motivated to jointly implement the inclusive finance agenda and the inclusive finance sector’s contribution to reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  A person with excellent organisational and analytical skills, a team player, who sees opportunities and acts upon it.

What you will do

 The Programme Manager is primarily responsible for:

  • Managing projects and activities; this includes organizing working group sessions, seminars, trainings and conferences on specific sector related topics and it includes logistical support for events, financial administration, keeping databases up-to-date, drafting contracts, coordinating with service support departments/organizations such as ICT, editors, consultants, website developers etc.
  • Supporting thematic working groups such as Rural Finance, Green Finance and Finance for Refugees: assist the chairman and the members of the thematic working groups in developing and coordinating knowledge sessions, research and publications, etc;
  • Maintaining and expanding the network of stakeholders: involve relevant stakeholders like financial institutions, (inter)governmental organisations, private sector, knowledge institutions, standard-setting bodies and NGOs in the work of NpM;
  • Communication & writing activities: writing content for the website and social media, writing documents such as annual reports, Terms of References and proposals.

Job requirements

Level of education: University level

Level of experience: 3 to 5 years relevant working experience, preferably in the (inclusive) finance sector

Knowledge and areas of experience:

  • General understanding of relevant policy frameworks and developments in the inclusive finance sector;
  • Skilled in translating insights and information into activities, plans and reports and keeping them within budget.
  • Knowledge of and affinity with Inclusive Finance, Green Finance and Rural Finance;
  • Affinity with and general knowledge of the international development sector;
  • Experience in project management;
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English language (please note fluency in Dutch is a must for this position);
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills; and
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Social Media).

Number of hours: 32 hours p/week

Start: February 2019

Duration: one-year contract with the possibility of extension of one year
